1.LG G6 Vs Huawei P10: Design
It is really hard to decide whether LG G6 or Huawei P10 look more handsome in your hand. Both devices are incredibly light weight, but LG G6 is slightly heavier with 163g than the extremely light P10 that weights just 145g. Huawei's latest P series model is also slightly smaller with the dimensions of 145.3 X 69.3 X 7mm than the G6 that has 148.9 X 71.9 X 7.9mm. As a consequence, LG G6 has a much larger display.
Huawei has put a lot of effort into the visual appearance of its P10 model and for that reason, the famous Smartphone manufacturer partnered up with Pantone to design blue and greenery options that separate this model from the sea of similarly looking Smartphones. Those users that would like more conventional options can choose between prestige gold, mystic silver or graphite black models. Unfortunately, this variety of color options cannot be applied to the LG's G6 since the Smartphone is only available in Black, White or Platinum options.
The P10 has a metal unibody with curved edges with the new hyper-diamond cut that cuts down on smudges and enables a better grip, but it doesn't offer any kind of protection against water or dust. LG G6 has an aluminum made body that leaves an impression of harmoniously designed dust and water resistant Smartphone that can endure being submerged into water up to 1.5m below the surface for more than 30 minutes.
2.LG G6 Vs Huawei P10: Screen
Besides the dust and water resistant body LG G6 has a remarkable 18:9 5.7 inches QHD Full Vision display that provides superior picture quality to its users. LG's intention was to produce a bigger display, but without having to make the G6 wider than the G5 model. Huawei's P10 although slightly smaller and lighter than G6 has a significantly smaller 16:9 screen with just 5.10 inches and lower screen resolution 432 ppi than the G6, that offers 564 ppi to its users. Interestingly, P10 doesn't have an oleophobic coating on the display which means that fingerprints will be all over the display if you choose to take off the screen protector.
The G6's 18:9 aspect ratio may sound very exciting, but the LG's latest model may encounter some problems with Netflix videos because they are in standard 16:9 aspect ratio. However, it features 'always on' technology that enables the user to see emails or social media notifications, time and other vital information without having to turn the display on. The LG G6 is also equipped with Dolby Vision HDR that can play HDR videos with Expanded Dynamic Range, however, the videos must be created with Dolby Vision or HDR 10 to take advantage of this feature.
3.LG G6 Vs Huawei P10: Hardware
Huawei's P10 is equipped with HiSilicon Kirin 960 octa-core processor and has 64 GB internal memory that can be expanded up 256 GB, a processor very similar to the one that can be found in the Huawei's Mate 9 model. In addition, the P10 has a Mali G71 GPU that has proved that it is capable of remarkable performances.
The G6's quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 CPU and Adreno 530 GPU guarantee an excellent all-around performance, although it may come as a disappointment that the model doesn't feature a Snapdragon 825 that is featured on the Samsung Galaxy S8. The LG G6 has only 32 GB of internal storage space which can be a bit troubling to the users who plan on using Smartphone's remarkable camera features.
Both P10 and G6 have 4GB of RAM memory and have Micro SD support, which enables the users to extend the storage space. Both Smartphone models should perform at approximately similar levels, but at this point, it is difficult to say which of these models has an upper hand because it has been only a few months since P10 and G6 emerged on the market.
4.LG G6 Vs Huawei P10: Camera
Although both LG G6 and Huawei P10 feature a dual camera setup on the back, the two Smartphones have hugely different camera performance capabilities. The P10 is equipped with two camera sensors a 20MP monochrome sensor and a 12MP color sensor both produced with the help of Leica company. On the other hand, The LG G6 also features two camera sensors, but they are both 13MP color sensors. The sensor aperture values are different at f/1.8 and f/2.2, therefore one performs better in difficult light conditions. In addition, G6 offers shooting modes that enable you to use both cameras independently, but learning how to use these modes might take some time. It also enables you to capture ultra HD 4K videos at resolutions as highs as 3840 X 2160 pixels.
Huawei P10 features a Pro mode that allows the user to adjust all settings manually, but perhaps its most prominent camera mode is the Portrait mode. With the help of the two cameras on the back, P10 can analyze faces and adjust settings in accordance with the light conditions of the scene. The Huawei P10 also features an 8MP front camera that is slightly better than the front camera on the LG G6 that has the only 5MP. Despite the differences, both of these Smartphones have excellent cameras that are more than capable of meeting the demands of common users.
5.LG G6 Vs Huawei P10: Battery performance
The Huawei P10 has a non-removable 3,200 mAh battery that doesn't seem as much of an improvement from the battery featured on the P9. Although the battery life on P10 has been improved in comparison to the short-lived batteries on some of their previous models, it still has relatively poor battery performance. The demanding tasks such as capturing video, listening to audio files or browsing the internet can drain the P10's battery in a relatively short period of time.
The LG's G6 is equipped with a non-removable 3,300 mAh battery, but its performance is significantly better. The G6 can support up to 90 minutes of recording Full HD video, which speaks volumes about the battery performance. The LG's latest addition to the G series is slightly better than the iPhone 7 when it comes to battery life which makes it an excellent choice for users who intend to use their Smartphone for demanding tasks. To make things even better the LG G6 can be charged wirelessly, but this option is currently only available on the US market.
6.LG G6 Vs Huawei P10: Software
Android 7.0 Nougat is the operating system both LG G6 and Huawei P10 utilize. Even though the OS is the same there are few significant differences that make the experience of using these Smartphones slightly different. P10 features the Huawei's EMUI 5.1 overlay that enables better resource management. The Machine Learning feature will remember how you use your Smartphone and anticipate your needs based on what it thinks you want to do at the moment. The upgrades of the Machine Learning Roster enable the P10 to provide you with more interactive touchscreen experience.
Enriched with the LG's overlay that changes the visual appearance of the 7.0 Nougat OS, the G6 is extremely easy to use and it runs smoothly. The LG G6 is equipped with Customizable Home Touch Buttons that includes QSlide, Capture+ and customizable color settings, while the Comfort View option decreases the amount of blue light on the screen. Huawei P10 and LG G6 both feature easy to use operating systems and software that enriches the user experience. It is still too early to say which of these Smartphones will perform better in the long run.
Conclusion
Despite very similar features, operating systems and size even, it is safe to say that LG G6 has more to offer to its users than the Huawei P10. At fairly similar prices LG G6 seems like a more innovative and endurable product that can be relied upon. This doesn't mean that purchasing Huawei P10 is a mistake, since it is a very attractive Smartphone, both above and below the hood, but LG G6 brings more innovation, especially with its 18:9 5.7 inch QHD Full Vision display and a battery life that can last much longer than the one on Huawei P10. The G6 almost bezel-less design gives this Smartphone a distinguishable look even though the LG G6 is available in just three different colors.
